For three years from 1999-2002 Bill played the part of Sherriff Jim Valenti on the WB then UAB teen sci-fi show ROSWELL. Here are the promotional images, stills, and opening credits for each season. Screencaps to follow.
Bill is about to star in a new series. HUDSON FALLS was shot during the COVID pandemic and Bill and the show’s writer Elias Plagianos talks about trying to film a pilot during such difficult times. Transcript can be found below the video.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed practically every facet of life. For filmmakers, it prompted a different type of creativity. A Rockland County resident was one of the first to film when New York reopened, and decided to shoot a TV pilot entirely in Rockland. He and one of the show’s actors spoke with WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne.
Indie filmmaker Elias Plagianos says he turned to just writing when society more or less shut down during the pandemic, and came up with an idea for a show he could film locally.
“Part of the inspiration was a lot of my friends had gone to Cornell University, which is in upstate New York, and they would always tell me these horror stories how people would always, out of pressure, jump off these gorges,” Plagianos says. “Cornell has a lot of different subjects, but I decided to go with science, and then I just thought a little bit more about upstate New York and what are some of the things, driving forces, and I noticed how a lot of these corporations kind of runs these small towns. So I decided to join a corporation that runs a small town and have a university involved, and wrap it all up in a murder-mystery.”

I just listened to this amazing interview with Bill while he recounts some of the highlights of his career with actress Vivan Kerr. Bill is very introspective and shares a lot of good advice from his career for young and upcoming actors. Please have a listen.
Here finally is a new posting. Sorry for the lack of, but I’ve had some health issues taking precedent. One is a broken toe and the other is migraines. The only thing I can do when one of those hits is lie down and do stuff on my phone. I can’t sit at a desk and do any kind of work. I hope you understand. This time we have one of Bill’s films from 2003 called THE BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS where Bill plays the part of Abraham “Abe” Enswiler the father of Shia LaBeouf. The film ironically also stars Shiri Appleby who was also on ROSWELL as Liz Parker with Bill as Sheriff Jim Valenti. I have both screencaps and Bill’s bits. Enjoy.
A few new scans from 1999 and 2000. Some are just on films Bill starred in, one is a long form interview I transcribed from the scans. In this interview Bill talks all about his genre films including DEMON KNIGHT, THE GREEN MILE, THE SHAWKSHANK REDEMPTION, BILL & TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY and mostly his role as Sheriff Jim Valenti on ROSWELL. I’ll link the transcribed version as well as the other scans uploaded.
I thought I’d do an omnibus of Bill’s press scans from 1995. The magazines include Fangoria, Gorezone, and Cinfantastique all with articles on Bill’s film TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT” as the warrior for Christ, Frank Brayker and his television guest appearance in THE OUTER LIMITS episode Valerie 23 where he is most convincing as a paraplegic as Frank Hellner. This could realistically be called the “Tale of Two Franks” post. Enjoy.
I just found an interview Bill did with the Be More Super Podcast on Youtube. Here Bill and host Bryan discuss Bill’s storied career in motion pictures, television, the stage, and music. Bill is again charming and engaging as he recalls stories from his experience in making films and television. Enjoy.
Bill appeared in the season three season of HOMELAND as White House Chief of Staff Michael Higgins. This was an excellent show, however, Bill’s character had the bad joss to be sitting next to DarAdol (F. Murray Abraham). His scenes with Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson were amazing. I always love seeing my favourite actors in my favourite shows. Makes them all the more special…. and Bill is special.
Bill plays the part of Ret. General Michael Flynn in this true adaptation of the James Comey book A Higher Loyalty. In THE COMEY RULE Bill was inspired in his role. He plays Flynn as if he was nothing but a stooge. In the scene where Flynn first meets Russian president Vladimir Putin (Stass Klassen), it seems Flynn is a bit too enamoured of the despot. The scene is likely the lead-up to the infamous dinner Flynn sat in on before the 2016 election. Bill is kind of funny as Flynn, almost depicting him as a member of the Keystone Cops instead of a seasoned military man. I was a bit torn between two scenes to use for the featured post image, so I chose two. The first is his looking at a portrait of Russia Tsar Peter The Great from episode one, and the other when Flynn is enjoying what looks like a brownie. I hope Bill doesn’t mind my choosing these two images, but they sort of chose themselves.
William continued his role of President of the United States Matthew Ellis into season three of the ABC television series AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.. In the aftermath of the Avengers battle to defend Sokovia, Ellis saw the defeat of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the immersion of Advanced Threat Containment Unit as depicted on this series. As usual William was excellent and I loved seeing him again as Ellis. Included in the post are the HD screencaps and stills from his episodes. Clips might be forthcoming.
