William Sadler “Roswell” Screencaps Update

A bit of an update on when the rest of Bill’s ROSWELL episodes will be done. I am currently attempting to write my first novel and most of my time is dedicated to either outlining, or research. I’ve had little time for anything else other than regular household and family stuff. I do plan on resuming soon. I want to get all his work done on ROSWELL, however, there is a lot of work to be done. Please be patient as I get those done. And I’m also trying to get up a new layout. This one has been up since the site went up and I think it’s time for a refresh.

I had these ready a couple of days ago, but I’ve been having logging on issues with trying to get into the site. Hopefully I can finish this post before I’m logged out again and the site becomes unreachable to me. So here we go.

Bill was in a four episode arc in the Epix series BERLIN STATION as the character Clay Williams. an edgy, authoritative, lifetime military man and Director of the Counter Terrorism Center who arrives at Berlin Station with a mission to help solve a difficult situation. As always Bill is amazing in it.

Bill & Karen Allen to Close the Fifth Annual Mystic Film Festival

Bill and his A STAGE OF TWILIGHT co-star, Karen Allen, and the film’s director, Sarah Schwab will close out the Fifth Annual Mystic Film Festival.

Film star Karen Allen to speak Sunday at closing of fifth annual Mystic Film Festival

MYSTIC — Karen Allen and William Sadler — film industry veterans whose dozens of roles have landed them in some of Hollywood’s most iconic films —will help close the fifth annual Mystic Film Festival on Sunday when Sarah T. Schwab’s narrative feature, “A Stage of Twilight” — the film in which they both are star — is screened at the Mystic Luxury Cinemas.

Allen, known for her work in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Animal House,” and Sadler, known for his roles in “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Mist,” play the parts of Cora and Barry in Schwab’s film, a retired couple who are enjoying life in their seventies.

After Barry is rushed to the hospital following a severe coughing attack and is diagnosed with a fatal heart disease, he rents a trailer home in the middle of the woods to die alone in peace. His hope for a dignified death proves to be a struggle for Cora, especially when Joey, a 17- year-old neighbor who acts as a surrogate son to the childless couple, enters the picture. As Barry’s end approaches, Cora is driven to make a critical decision for them both.

Schwab, known for her film, “Life After You,” writes and directs the film and will join Allen, and Sadler for a moderated conversation following the screening.

“Star Trek” Has William Sadler To Thank

A wonderful article on Bill’s appearances in STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE making his nefarious character of Luther Sloan to be one of if not the most pivotal characters in the entirety of the franchise. Have to agree with them, though anything Bill is in is made better by his presence.

A Die Hard Bad Guy Was One Of Star Trek’s Most Game-Changing Villains

William Sadler played Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Sloan, who changed the franchise forever.

By Michileen Martin | Published 15 hours ago

There are some who say Star Trek has strayed far beyond Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the franchise, and those criticisms aren’t without merit. Honestly, they wouldn’t have been without merit decades ago. Long before Discovery, Strange New Worlds, or even the Kelvin Timeline films, Trek was going in directions that Roddenberry would–at the very least–have voiced concerns about. In particular, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine included a lot of elements Roddenberry may very well have balked at, including a multi-year serialized war story. Another thing that the Trek creator may have had a few thoughts about was DS9‘s introduction of Section 31: a covert agency operating outside all of the Federation’s laws and ideals, but often with full unspoken blessing of Starfleet’s upper echelons. The agency would go far beyond the boundaries of DS9 and–for better or worse–change the franchise forever. In part, we have William Sadler of Die Hard 2 fame to thank for that change.

William Sadler Outside Star Trek

When you see a movie about a cop from New York City who–purely by chance–winds up in an office building on the very night its occupants are taken hostage by heavily armed thieves, you wouldn’t necessarily think there’s a sequel or four in the mix, but that’s exactly what happened. Two years after the release of Die Hard came Die Hard 2, with Bruce Willis’s John McClane once again finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. This time he’s at Dulles International Airport waiting for his wife’s flight to land when the place is taken over by terrorists led by Colonel William Stuart, played by William Sadler. Stuart is just as cunning as Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber and–unlike Gruber–given the right set of circumstances he could probably push McClane’s face through the back of his head faster than you can say “fanatic.” Of course, since there were three more Die Hard films to come we know that right set of circumstances never arrived for Stuart. Luckily, Sadler got the chance to play a much more nuanced villain for Star Trek.

Sadler’s Die Hard 2 role isn’t the only one he’s known for, of course. As the white-faced Death itself, Sadler played an assortment of games–like Clue and Twister–against the heroes in 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey and reprised the role for 2020’s Bill & Ted Face the Music. He was also the good-hearted but often complaining Heywood in 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption.

William Sadler Becomes Sloan, Head Of Star Trek’s Section 31

Star Trek has its share of “it was all an illusion” episodes, and one such beast was the Michael Dorn directed “Inquisition” in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s penultimate season. We first meet William Sadler’s Sloan as a man claiming to work for Starfleet Intelligence. Sloan makes like he’s treating Doctor Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig) with kid gloves, but we soon learn he believes the doctor is a mole for the Dominion who isn’t even consciously aware of it. After a tense drama in which it seems like everyone aboard DS9 has turned against Bashir, we learn it’s all a hologram and that Sloan works for the clandestine Section 31, which neither Bashir nor most of DS9‘s heroes have ever heard of. He’s convinced of Bashir’s innocence and actually tries to recruit the doctor. He appears twice more and, in spite of doing things that should have him thrown in prison or worse, convincingly portrays himself as a necessary evil working for the greater good.

There are a lot of things in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that sometimes seem to have been utterly forgotten. In spite of commanding an army that–if it had ever had the opportunity–could have crushed the combined forces of the Federation, Klingon, and Romulan Empires, the Dominion has hardly been heard from since DS9 concluded. We don’t hear much about the status of Bajor or the (former? current?) Cardassian Empire. The Prophets have been quiet and Quark and his family have largely been relegated to a series of Easter eggs. But Section 31 has endured far beyond the closing moments of DS9‘s series finale.

In the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise, we eventually learn that Malcolm Reed (Dominic Keating) joined and left Section 31 before serving under Captain Archer (Scott Bakula), and his old commanding officer coerces him into continuing to help the organization. Much later, in Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery, the group is integral to the creation of the villain A.I. Control. In 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, we learn the organization is thriving in the Kelvin Timeline. Peter Weller’s Admiral Marcus is a member, and has been secretly using that timeline’s version of Khan (Benedcit Cumberbatch) to fight a covert war with the Klingons.

In fact, there has been talk of a Section 31 Star Trek series in development for some time now, with Michelle Yeoh expected to lead the series as the Mirror Universe version of Philippa Georgiou and joined by Shazad Latif as the once Klingon-possessed Ash Tyler. There haven’t been a lot of updates about the series in the past year or so, however. If it does see the light of day, the series, along with all the other Section 31 stories in Trek, will in part have William Sadler to thank for his portrayal of what remains one of the franchise’s most interesting and enigmatic villains.

“Salem’s Lot” Moved To 2023

It looks like Bill’s film SALEM’S LOT has been moved from this coming September to next spring, April 2023. Apparently Warner Brothers has done this with their whole rest of 2022 and 2023 releases. No real reason was given.

Warner Bros. Pushes ‘Salem’s Lot’ to Spring 2023

Lewis Pullman stars in the Stephen King adaptation.

Salem’s Lot will be haunting audiences a little later than planned. Warner Bros. has moved the Stephen King adaptation to April 21, 2023. The New Line project was previously slated to open Sept. 9 of this year, a favorite corridor for King adaptations such as It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019).

Veteran horror scribe Gary Dauberman, known for writing the It films and helming Annabelle Comes Home, is directing a cast that includes Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, John Benjamin Hickey, Bill Camp, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, and Pilou Asbaek.

King published Salem’s Lot in 1975. The book centers on an author who returns to his hometown only to discover townspeople are slowly being turned into vampires. James Wan, Michael Clear, Roy Lee and Mark Wolper are producing.

Warners also removed from the schedule The Last Train to New York, a remake of the Korean zombie hit Train to Busan. Dauberman penned the script with Timo Tjahjanto directing and James Wan producing.

The studio also unscheduled House Party, which was slated to hit HBO Max on July 28. The reboot stars Tosin Cole And Jacob Latimore. The studio, which release first-look images back in May, did not announce release plans for the film at this time.

The loss of Salem’s Lot from the September calendar comes as box office observers are concerned over a lull in product in the coming months.

Bill Voices David Drayton in “The Mist” 1984 Audio Drama

Bill’s association with Stephen King didn’t start in 1994’s THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION as the hapless Heywood. It started in 1984 where he voiced the part of David Drayton, played by Thomas Jane in the Frank Darabont directed film. This audio recording is quite good though I have to say the woman voicing the part of Mrs. Carmody can’t hold a candle to the inspired and dedicated performance of Marica Gay Hardin in the film. Bill would go on to star in three other films based on a King penned book. Those are THE GREEN MILE as Klaus Detterick, THE MIST as Jim Grondin, and currently he’s filming a big screen version of SALEM’S LOT. His role is as yet unknown. Site Status Update

I know it’s been a while since I posted anything new. I wanted to let you know I haven’t abandoned the site. My life has been very busy lately and I’ve got a ton of things happening all at once. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I’m in the process of researching to write my first novel. Websites are my hobby and at times I just don’t have the time for them that I want to. Particularly when real life piles up. Along with the first novel thing, there have been some illnesses in the family and that takes precedence in terms of it should be expected. It’s not COVID, thankfully. I’ve also been working on another project not related to the web that again has taken up a lot of my time. I’m truly hoping I can get back into some kind of schedule in the coming weeks. I’m not sure when uploads will resume, but for now the site has been up for you. It will remain up no matter what. I know there was a bit of a glitch there causing the site to be offline. I’m sorry for that. I found the cause and it’s fixed now. I want to say thank you all for your understanding and to those who reached out to me via email. Your thoughts are welcomed and appreciated. Please take care and here’s to getting back into Bill’s career. I have been keeping track of anything he’s up to including his role in SALEM’S LOT, his sixth association with a Stephen King property. I’ve got something I’m working on for your pleasure that will be up soon. Stay tuned.

Well we’re finally back and about to wrap up Bill’s season one episodes from ROSWELL where he played the part of Sheriff Jim Valenti. Some really good episodes here. I think my favourite has to be Independence Day where he had some pretty good flirting with Amy DeLucca (Diane Farr). Loved that so much. So cute. Also loved the end scene in The Convention was damn good and I have to say that Jason Behr as Max was fantastic in it the way he confronted Valenti about his pursuit of him and the others. The next five episodes will be something in terms of Bill and the arc Valenti was on during season one.

Back again this time with four more episodes from Bill’s role as Sheriff Jim Valenti from ROSWELL. Gotta say it, Valenti’s menacing of Max (Jason Behr) is a little too good. I mean come on, it’s a little much though Bill does it well. I also loved Bill’s scenes with Diane Farr who played Amy DeLuca. They’re cute together and it’s good to see Bill getting a romantic partner. He keeps saying he’s never considered for a romantic lead. Bill’s mantra is, “Boy meets girl. Boy gets girl. Boy dismembers girl.” Oh my. Here’s hoping Amy doesn’t end up like that!

“Roswell” Season 1, Episodes 1-4 Screecaps

Just like I said when I added Bill’s film OFF BEAT. sometimes due to the availability or lack thereof, sometimes I won’t be able to add high quality screencaps to the gallery. While I would love to provide those at all times, it’s unfortunate. Such is the case with Bill’s series ROSWELL where he played the part of Sheriff Jim Valenti. I have the first four episodes of season one for you with more to come in the following days. Thought I’m trying to get as much up as I can as fast as I can, I’m currently in the process of writing my first novel and my research takes precedent as well as the writing. One thing I have to say about some of Bill’s scenes so far. He’s one hell of a badass here. Meaning he knows how to be threatening. Valenti’s feelings towards Max (Jason Behr) is palpable, and Behr is pretty good at absorbing Valenti’s anger. The one scene I have to say just floored me was in episode three Monsters, where actress Majandra Delfino who plays Maria DeLuca held her own against Bill’s significant menace. Great acting there Majandra. Oh and who couldn’t love Valenti sharing ice cream with Kyle (Nick Wechsler) in my opinion, best scene so far.

Bill Has Wrapped on “She Came Through The Woods”

Bill has completed another film. This time he plays the part of Gilbert McCalister in the film SHE CAME THROUGH THE WOODS Eric Bloomquist directs. More information below.

Filming Wraps on ‘She Came from the Woods’, Which Heads Back to 1987

Mainframe Pictures has just wrapped filming on their indie horror She Came from the Woods, Bloody Disgusting learned of the Erik Bloomquist-directed (Ten Minutes to Midnight, Long Lost) film based on the 2017 short of the same name.

The story follows the staff of an overnight camp as they conjure an old legend on the last day of the summer of 1987.

She Came from the Woods stars Cara Buono (“Stranger Things”, “Mad Men”), William Sadler (Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Demon Knight, VFW, The Grudge), Clare Foley (Sinister), Spencer List (Good Trouble), Michael Park (“Stranger Things”) and Tyler Elliot Burke (The Punisher).

Rounding out the ensemble cast are Adam Weppler (Ten Minutes to Midnight), Ehad Berisha (Billions), Dan Leahy (Dave), Giselle Torres (The Big Show Show), Sienna Hubert-Ross (Almost Love), Emily Keefe (Intermedium), Erik Bloomquist (Weekenders), Madeleine Dauer (The Murder Pact), Juliana Davies (The Post), Declan Foley (My Adventures with Santa), Tess Santarsiero (Christmas on the Carousel), Cory Asinofsky, Cody Boccia, and newcomer Coulter Ibanez.

Bloomquist co-wrote the screenplay with Carson Bloomquist. The project comes from production outfit Mainframe Pictures, co-founded by the brothers. The two produce for Mainframe alongside Cara Buono, William Sadler, and Adam Weppler.

Mainframe’s previous and upcoming credits include Ten Minutes to Midnight, Long Lost, Weekenders, Night at the Eagle Inn, Christmas on the Carousel, and the nationally syndicated Emmy Award winning television series “The Cobblestone Corridor”.

His role of James is very complicated and his few scenes are riveting. I’m not going to give the plot away, though when I set up the filmography section you’ll likely know. There’s a bit of a hitch though, in the final credits they get Bill’s title credit correct with William Sadler, but in the cast roll up, they have William SALder. Big time noogie right there.

Bill Narrates “The Last Mountain” …. a Documentary About The Coal Industry

I just watched this very powerful documentary where Bill provided the narration. THE LAST MOUNTAIN documents a town’s war against the powerful coal industry and lobby seeking to keep up the use of fossil fuels instead of making the conversion to renewable energy sources. It was wonderful listening to Bill’s voice, however, it cannot be stated so clearly that we need to end our dependency on these damaging, and outdated fuels.

Bill’s Film “The Unholy” Gets A Release Date!

According to Fansided, Bill’s film THE UNHOLY is finally getting a release date. The film is slated to open in theatres on April 2, 2021. This is very good news in that movie theatres are slowly reopening after COVID. As of now there is no name for Bill’s character. More below.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan horror movie The Unholy gets a release date

The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan will star in the Sam Raimi-produced horror film titled The Unholy. This film was formerly titled The Shrine. Deadline reports that The Unholy is set to be released in theaters on April 2.

This film is written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos, and this will mark his directorial debut. Spiliotopoulos is known for the screenplay for Hercules (2014), The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016) and the live-action film Beauty and the Beast.

Raimi, Spiliotopoulos and Rob Tapert produce the movie. Raimi is primarily known for his cult horror series, Evil Dead, and Tapert is known for co-creating the Zena: Warrior Princess series.

Morgan will star alongside Katie Aselton, William Sadler, Cricket Brown, with Diogo Morgado and Cary Elwes in this film adaptation of the James Herbert novel Shrine.

What is The Unholy film about?

Morgan plays Gerry Fenn, a disgraced journalist who travels to a small-town New England town to investigate some divine miracles.

William Sadler opens up about ‘Alice Fades Away’ thriller

Finally a trailer of Bill’s new film ALICE FADES AWAY. This looks rather intense and I can hardly wait to see it.

William Sadler opens up about ‘Alice Fades Away’ thriller

Actor William Sadler (“Bill & Ted Face the Music”) chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about the film “Alice Fades Away.”

In the thriller Alice Fades Away, directed by Ryan Bliss, he plays James. “I had fun but it was very intense,” he said. “James is a powerful character and a powerful man who has lost control of something in his life that means the world to him, and that makes him an interesting character to play. He is a man that is used to getting what he wants, he is wealthy and he commands respect, and controls everything in his world.”

He praised the film’s director, Ryan Bliss. “I thought Ryan was terrific. I love directors that create a safe place for you to play in. You feel trusted. These are the directors that get the best work out of their actors. You can go as far as you feel free to go. I was blown away when I saw the final film, and how beautiful it was,” he said.

The movie also stars Blanche Baker (Sixteen Candles), Paxton Singleton (The Haunting of Hill House) and Ashley Shelton (Something, Anything). Christopher French composed the musical score. “It’s a thriller but it has gorgeous photography, and I admire that as well. The photography makes for a good film,” he said.

Alice Fades Away is available for streaming on digital platforms by clicking here. It was released on February 16 via 1091 Pictures. “If viewers like suspense, I would encourage them to see this film,” he said. “I think it’s a terrifying story that is beautifully sold. I would urge people to see it.”

For young and aspiring actors, he encouraged them to do some theater, where they have to go in front of a live audience. “You have to deliver. I did theater for 11 years before I did my first movie. It took a couple of films to make the adjustment to the camera because it’s a slightly different style of acting. In film and television, there is no rehearsal. You run the scene once or twice with the actor that you just met that morning, and then, they lay it down on film and it’s there forever,” he said.

He described the latest Bill & Ted film, Bill & Ted Face the Music, as “great fun.” “I was thrilled when they came back to me after 30 years and asked me to be in another one, and I said ‘yeah of course’ and they told me the general plot of it,” he said.

Sadler defined the word success as “when you are secure in yourself and your career, and when things are in balance.”

Bill Talks “Hudson Falls”

Bill is about to star in a new series. HUDSON FALLS was shot during the COVID pandemic and Bill and the show’s writer Elias Plagianos talks about trying to film a pilot during such difficult times. Transcript can be found below the video.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed practically every facet of life. For filmmakers, it prompted a different type of creativity. A Rockland County resident was one of the first to film when New York reopened, and decided to shoot a TV pilot entirely in Rockland. He and one of the show’s actors spoke with WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne.

Indie filmmaker Elias Plagianos says he turned to just writing when society more or less shut down during the pandemic, and came up with an idea for a show he could film locally.

“Part of the inspiration was a lot of my friends had gone to Cornell University, which is in upstate New York, and they would always tell me these horror stories how people would always, out of pressure, jump off these gorges,” Plagianos says. “Cornell has a lot of different subjects, but I decided to go with science, and then I just thought a little bit more about upstate New York and what are some of the things, driving forces, and I noticed how a lot of these corporations kind of runs these small towns. So I decided to join a corporation that runs a small town and have a university involved, and wrap it all up in a murder-mystery.”

JoBlo Names Its Top 10 Streaming Christmas Movies …. One of Them is …..?

The website JoBlo has named its ten best streaming Christmas movies. And DIE HARD 2 was among them with honourable mention given to a certain nude Tai Chi lovin’ psychopathic killer we all know and love. Hint: Check this site’s subject. One of the clips they show is from the scene where John McLane (Bruce Willis) is in the cockpit of the plane Bill’s character Col. Stuart is shooting up into. Later McLane ejects the seat saving himself. I keep remembering a funny story Bill tells of filming that scene and making the sound of the machine gun, the sound mixer on the project, Tim Cooney, having to come and tell Bill he didn’t need to make the sounds. That’s what he was for.

3. Yes, Virginia, these ARE good sequels!: Die Hard 2 (1990), Bad Santa 2 (2016)

Christmas movie sequels don’t come around too often, let alone Christmas sequels that are actually good! Yet, some do exist and, for this list, I have TWO… Yes, Die Hard IS a Christmas movie, but what some may not quite comprehend is that its sequel is ALSO a Christmas movie… and surprisingly, a damn good one! You’d think John McClane fighting off terrorists a second time during Christmas would be asinine, yet somehow through Bruce Willis’s everyman charm and a wonderfully merciless main villain (played by William Sadler), the whole thing works! And… with Bad Santa 2, Billy Bob Thornton’s “Willie” picks up right where he left off, despite the thirteen-year gap between both films. All the dirty, potty-mouthed magic of the original is back with the new addition of the always-game Kathy Bates as Willie’s mama! Funny times!
Stream Die Hard 2 right now on HBO Max. Stream Bad Santa 2 right now on Amazon Prime.

Filed under Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey CHARACTERS Col. Stuart Death/The Grim Reaper Die Hard 2 FILM K-9 Salesman Don WILLIAM SADLER

“K-9” Screencaps & Media

There’s a story the great actor Harrison Ford tells of one of his first films called Dead Heat On a Merry-Go-Round from 1966, where he played the part of a bellboy. In his all but one minute of screen time he gave us a performance that rattled a studio executive so much, he had to vent his spleen on the actor. Harrison recounts it below:

“He called me into his office and said, ‘I want to tell you a story, kid.’ Kid, he always called me kid. He was about 15 minutes older that I was,” Ford began. “He said, ‘First time Tony Curtis was ever in a movie … he delivered a bag of groceries, a bag of groceries, kid. And you took one look at that guy, and you knew that was a movie star.'”

Ford fired back: “Well I thought that was supposed to be a delivery boy!”

Ford was fired, he said.

SOURCE: THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

The reason I recount this story is because like Harrison Ford, Bill Sadler has that everyman ability to play exactly what he’s been hired to play. In this case in this film Bill plays a car salesman named Don who tries to sell to film star Jim Belushi. Instead of playing something bigger Bill plays a car salesman. His ability to become whatever he’s asked is so fluid. Bill is a car salesman and not trying to be anything else in that moment but that. It proves what an actor Bill is because later that year he became The Grim Reaper/Death in BILL & TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY, then a few years later a terrorist in Col. Stuart in DIE HARD 2. That’s Bill Sadler. Whatever is asked of him, he brings it.

According to Bill this was if not the most traumatic of his films to make. Given the subject matter and that he and his wife, Marni, had just had a daughter almost the same age of the two daughters Klaus Detterick finds murdered. THE GREEN MILE was for Bill the second of his films he made with director Frank Darabont and the second based off of a Stephen King best seller. The other two would be THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION where Bill played Heywood, and THE MIST where Bill played Jim Grondin. If you want to read what Bill had to say about filming this movie, please check out the article here: Why William Sadler’s Green Mile Scene Was The Hardest Thing He Ever Had To Film. Filed under CHARACTERS Michael Flynn TELEVISION The Comey Rule WILLIAM SADLER

“The Comey Rule” – HD Screencaps

Bill plays the part of Ret. General Michael Flynn in this true adaptation of the James Comey book A Higher Loyalty. In THE COMEY RULE Bill was inspired in his role. He plays Flynn as if he was nothing but a stooge. In the scene where Flynn first meets Russian president Vladimir Putin (Stass Klassen), it seems Flynn is a bit too enamoured of the despot. The scene is likely the lead-up to the infamous dinner Flynn sat in on before the 2016 election. Bill is kind of funny as Flynn, almost depicting him as a member of the Keystone Cops instead of a seasoned military man. I was a bit torn between two scenes to use for the featured post image, so I chose two. The first is his looking at a portrait of Russia Tsar Peter The Great from episode one, and the other when Flynn is enjoying what looks like a brownie. I hope Bill doesn’t mind my choosing these two images, but they sort of chose themselves.

“Man On A Ledge” – HD Screencaps

To say this film is quirky is cutting it short. This is the ultimate heist film with a bunch of twists and turns. Bill’s character though by all intents and purposes seems to be a small one, but turns out to be integral to the plot that is why I’m not going to give anything away by posting any clips to the film. I really want his fans to experience this film on your own. I have to say this film buttresses his earlier film HANKY PANKY quite well. It seems Bill got a bit of ahhhhhhh, promotion? Here Bill plays another Frank. This follows his role as Frank Brayker in DEMON KNIGHT.

A Note From William/Bill….. And a Huge Thank You From William Sadler Online

To say I’m honoured is understating it. I have been fortunate to receive a message from William/Bill in support of this site. He has also graciously allowed me to post the note he sent me. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for his kindness. Here is what he had to say:

Hi guys,
I just wanted to say thank you for your amazing web site. I’ve been working at this acting craft for a very long time and it’s truly gratifying to see that people have been watching all these years. Let me know if you have questions I can help with and keep up the good work!
Best,
William Sadler

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” – Season 3 HD Screencaps & Stills

William continued his role of President of the United States Matthew Ellis into season three of the ABC television series AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.. In the aftermath of the Avengers battle to defend Sokovia, Ellis saw the defeat of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the immersion of Advanced Threat Containment Unit as depicted on this series. As usual William was excellent and I loved seeing him again as Ellis. Included in the post are the HD screencaps and stills from his episodes. Clips might be forthcoming.

“Iron Man 3” – HD Screencaps

Here are the screencaps for William’s performance in the Marvel big screen actioner IRON MAN 3 as President of the United States Matthew Ellis. “Iron”ically I’m posting this on the day former Vice-President Joe Biden will win the 2020 presidential race. I find it apropos for this for as Eillis, William displayed all the traits needed for the presidency. Yeah Ellis is a fictional character, but hell William played him wonderfully. I’m Canadian, but hell I’d vote for Ellis. Oh and he also got to wear the War Machine armor. I will never call it The Iron Patriot. Ever.

“Kinsey” – HD Screencaps & Media

William took the risky move in playing Kenneth Braun, a prolific pedophile and sexual deviant in the film KINSEY. It’s bravery like this that makes William someone who fears little in his pursuit of his craft. Whether it’s playing a terrorist, an executioner, a fictional killer, or as in this case someone so monstrous it’s hard to fathom. This just shows what an actor William is. I was most impressed with his work in this.

“Hanky Panky” – HD Screencaps & Media

I went with one of William’s latest works in the post before this one, I thought we’d go all the way back to one of his first. Here he plays a rather cute hotel clerk in the comedy HANKY PANKY starring the late Gene Wilder and his wife, the late Gilda Radner. The film was directed by Sidney Poitier. William had only one scene in it so I thought I’d just clip it out so you can see him. I’ve added opening and closing credits to fill out the clip. Enjoy.

“Bill & Ted Face The Music” – HD Screencaps & Media

The screencaps and other media for William’s role as The Grim Reaper/Death in the 2020 release BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC. This film was so funny and sweet in a way. Bringing back these characters at this time was what was needed. Keanu Reeves (Bill) and Alex Winter (Ted) were so good and William as always is amazing. This film took up where BILL & TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY left off and brought us something special for this confused year.

Share Halloween With A William Sadler Double “Bill”

The website That Hashtag Show has selected five double feature vids for you to spend your Halloween with. They mentioned specifically two of William’s films for your consideration. They selected TALES FROM THE CRYPT PRESENTS: DEMON KNIGHT where he played Frank Brayker, and VFW where he played Walter Reed. I’m so happy they focused in on these two classics from William’s filmography. And their praise for him made this gal’s heart melt.

4. William Sadler-A-Thon: Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight (1995)/VFW (2019)

Now, you might be asking yourself, “what in the flying f*ck do these have to do with each other?”. There is a common thread among them. And that’s William Sadler. William Sadler being immeasurably badass. That’s really the only thing that connects these two, but I’m all for a Sadler-A-Thon. Demon Knight is a hugely underrated horror flick that gets lost because it’s a Tales From The Crypt spin-off from the 90’s. Don’t let that stop you from enjoying Sadler tussle with Billy Zane’s The Collector.

I’ve already reviewed VFW as part of Fright-A-Thon, so you can read that review right here. But it’s safe to say that Sadler gives another great performance in this film as well. It’s a classic feeling film made in 2019, so you can’t really get much better than that.

William Sadler – The Tribute

William Sadler has the kind of face one knows, but sometimes can’t place. Considering the number of credits he has on his IMDB page, it’s surprising he’s not known more than he is. One thing he is, is reliable. Sitting down to watch one of his films or a guest appearance on episodic television, one knows we’re going to get excellence from William. He’s just that good.

When trying to remember the fist time I saw William Sadler, one would have thought it was one of his bigger roles such as Col. Stuart in DIE HARD 2, or as Brayker in DEMON KNIGHT or Don in TRESPASS, but for me I now know it was further back than that. It was while I was watching an episode of the CBS sitcom NEWHART The part was credited as “Clumsy Guest”. I do remember the part when he comes down the stairs of the Stafford Inn and slips on the stairs landing at the bottom of the landing, then grabbing the baluster pulling it out of baserail. That character was one of many who had only one scene and was never seen again, but he was funny. The next time I saw him was likely as Col Stuart.
